| HELEN KENNEDY OBITUARY. VERO BEACH – Helen Kennedy passed away on July 7, 2023 at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach, Florida. Helen was a long-time resident of Vero Beach and had previously lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton before moving to Vero Beach.
Helen was born on August 13, 1925 in Elizabeth, N.J. She was the daughter of Helen and Charles Tetter and had a sister, Babette R. Rutherford. Helen graduated from Cornell University in 1947 with a degree in Hotel Management. She was the first female graduate in the Hotel Management Program at Cornell. Following graduation Helen worked all over the world, including in Haiti. She married Herbert Kennedy in 1954. He had graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. They had a wonderful life together, traveling the world and enjoying summers in the mountains of North Carolina. Helen had a very special life, had many dear friends and enjoyed everything she did and everywhere she went.
