In Memoriam

Robert John Fisher
December 17, 1924--February 16, 2011

With great sadness we announce that Bob passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket Ontario. After three weeks at the hospital he had had enough. He was 86 years old and enjoyed a great life. For the past while his health had been in steady decline due to numerous problems including a stroke, a weak heart and realted ailments. At the time of his passing he was in the palliative care section of the hospital, was very well cared for and was not suffering.

Bob (and Shirley) were original owners at Pebble Beach Villas, since 1975. As far as he was concerned it was the best investment that he ever made. Together they enjoyed many happy retirement years making many of their life's great friendships, hosting family and friends and generally enjoying life in a unique setting. He served on the board and was never shy about voicing his opinions regarding the state of the facility.

Bob served with the Royal Canadian Air force in WW2 and graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Economics. Most of his business career was spent with Exxon Mobil where he worked in Toronto, San Juan PR and Miami, FL. He enjoyed playing the piano, the world of books and the company of family and friends.

His wish is for Michael and Joanne to continue to own and maintain Unit C-24 and we intend to do just that. We are hoping that Shirley can continue to spend time at PBV as well.

As many of his friends at PBV will recall, Bob was always a big fan of the Friday 'Happy Hour'. Perhaps when you gather this week you could raise a glass to his memory. He would certainly like that. Thanks to all of you who have offered condolences. They are very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you soon. We can be contacted via email at mlfisher@shaw.ca
